Boundaries and Territories: The Question of In-habitation.

Humans build and construct the space around them. Their Boundaries and
Territories are reflected in The Ways They Live and the Rights to The City. Each habitation has its unique sense of community. They have their specific audience, different intended and unintended programming of the space which equates to the various spatial experiences.

The elements of Boundaries and Territories are a constructed gesture that creates a unique form of in-habitation in different typologies, resulting in a built environment. The built environment is the distinct sense of closeness and intimate interaction between the people and the objects they inhabit.

“The very act of in-habitation, the occupying of space and selecting what
comes in and what stays out is fundamentally territorial ” Edward T.Hall

In this project, I focus on the possibilities that can occur between contrasting interior typologies: in this case, it might be as general or as huge as a difference between strata and corporate shops, with the hope that this design methodology can encourage less economic-centric driven mall design that doesn’t use only benches and plastic plants with no purpose as their form of intervention.

Also, possibly looking at a more specific and focused group of audiences in a smaller enclosed space like between a family to demonstrate how Boundaries and Territories are defined and broken down with the use of objects, structures, and materials, derived from the ways of inhabitation exhibited by the users within an interior typology. All in order to help foster a closer bond amongst the family members.
