Life After Art School – Careers in the Creative Industries

Lesley Black from the GSA Careers Service, looks at the range of careers in the Creative Industries for design graduates. Part of the GSA Enterprise Studio, GSA Careers Service provides impartial guidance, advice and support on all aspects of professional practice, career and creative business development. The service offers a range of professional practice sessions,  1:1 guidance interviews and a vacancy service for students and graduates.

What are the Creative Industries?
UK Government Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) defines nine sectors within the creative industries: Advertising and marketing, Architecture, Crafts, Design: product, graphic and fashion design, Film, TV, video, radio and photography, IT, software and computer services, Publishing, Museums, galleries and libraries, Music, performing and visual arts.
