My practice acts as system of reflections, an ontological mesh of entangled narratives. Oscillating between mediums and categories; violating the inviolate subject.
My work is informed by the concept of the troll Mirror (Hans Christian Anderson) a short story embodying this concept of reflective visions.
The devil makes a mirror that reflects the world back altered, the mirror shatters on its way to heaven, and the pieces are bourne all over the earth on the north wind. Everything is refracted equally upon that altering glass surface.
This most recent work focuses on embodiments of the Human and the Non-Human. Both narratives inform and reflect the construction of the other. Examining the anthropocentric narratives surrounding the Non-human figure of the Orca. Combining working methods and mediums associated with high and low culture, denaturing both categorisations.
I don’t want to be a Troll or an Angel, I want to be a piece of the mirror reflecting the world back altered.
