Sean Bell
Art Director & Designer.
Sean graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2016 with a degree in Communication Design, where he specialised in Photography, working extensively with large and medium format cameras and bookbinding practices.
Since then he has worked extensively across fashion and music, beginning his career with stints at Gucci and Simmonds Ltd, working on commercial campaigns and art direction for the likes of Frank Ocean and Sam Smith. After splitting his time between London and Glasgow he returned to Scotland to focus on art direction, design and event management for independent record labels such as Numbers and individual freelance work for a variety of electronic and indie musicians. During this time Sean contributed research, design and consultancy for numerous electronic releases, whilst managing artists and events on an international level; from Edinburgh Festival to Sónar Barcelona.
After widening his skillset and industry knowledge he made a return to fashion where he remains now, working as an art director for the luxury brand Burberry where he advises and implements creative ideas for fashion, brand and experience. During this time Sean has lead and collaborated on a diverse portfolio of fashion campaigns, from initial research and development through to conception and post production. Alongside this he continues to expand his understanding of brand promotion as well as working extensively on the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter fashion shows.
For his selection Sean has chosen the work of Fashion Design student Caitlin Fraser, and both Communication Design students Bel Docherty and Joe Habben.
