Kelly’s final year collection focusses on creating sensory textiles based around photographs taken while visiting Los Angeles. These photographs have a strong theme of graphics and colour throughout, similar to the 1930’s travel posters that had given initial inspiration.
The main aim for Kelly’s collection is to target the mental and emotional well-being of others. Kelly hopes to improve these social issues through her use of synthetic colour, compositions and variety of textures present. These textiles will be designed for interior spaces to be used in situations such as therapy to leisure. These designs will be completed through hand, machine and digital embroidery techniques.
