I am an illustration student graduating from the Glasgow School of Art. Primarily my practice
involves the creation and relaying of narratives through multidisciplinary techniques, focused particularly on social issues surrounding class and hierarchies within society.
In my final year studying at the Glasgow School of Art, I aimed to explore the topic of social hierarchies within society, particularly the experiences of those from different backgrounds within educational environments. I explored these topics within two ongoing projects. My first project is a children’s book project, inspired by previous research, exploring poverty proofing within primary schools. The purpose of this is to educate children on different experiences, and represent social classes within schools, therefore providing a voice.
I also explored this idea within ‘The Pecking Order.’ The aim was to investigate my own experiences and the experiences of others, focusing in particular on students from working class backgrounds entering higher education. Through this, I wanted to create 3 animations or ‘episodes,’ that portray relatable narratives whilst also informing the audience.
