The inspiration behind my collection began with looking into 1970’s men’s underwear ads. I was drawn to the camp and homoerotic nature of these ads, more specifically the phrases used within them, “Take away their uniforms and who are they”. I began to question if there is a silhouette that defines a man. As a designer I aim to show male vulnerability, through focusing on deconstructing the suit, contrasting material choices, and implementing subtle erotic elements. This collection primarily challenges the idea of uniforms and their association to how we view men.
