Mother Algeria

Mother Algeria is a 20 minutes long short film made in confinement by Elianor Oudjedi as the outcome of three years of research on the theme of resilience and integration. Set between a metaphorical stage and raw footages of Algeria, we are rolled in and out of a story that makes us wander on the boarder of dream and reality.

Elianor Oudjedi is a french video artist with an intimate and dreamlike world. Her work focuses on the notion of resilience and uses the medium of moving image to capture and present narratives commonly dismissed in the collective imagination.
Advocating that fragility is an immense strength she seeks to absorb her audience into an empathetic gaze through her use of poetic sceneries and means of storytelling.
Firstly trained as a designer, Elianor uses a thorough methodology and intentions in her visual work. Convinced that the Intimate is political she works on collecting personal stories and exploring ways to preserve distance while sublimating them through visual art. Often evocative, her work illustrates her intention to give her audience just enough tools to understand their own stories through others’ and introduce leads to reflect on society.
