Dolly the Sheep

Dolly the sheep, cloned in Scotland, was produced from a mammary gland, giving her the name Dolly, after Dolly Parton and her voluptuous boobs. The two flags hanging from a pole, parade Dolly the sheep and Dolly Parton as a pair, as a celebration of the modern day animal sacrifice.

My current practice interrelates the progression of human traditions with symbiotic relationships and animal social structures. I often refer to objects in museum collections as a way to generate imagery and materiality of my work. The ritual-like behaviour shown in symbiotic relationships is something I find reflective of the structures in traditions formed by humans. I am particularly interested in how traditions are established and how these can exist amongst the vast content on the internet.

Although I have uploaded images onto this showcase, my work is rooted in the importance of craft and in order for it to be experienced, GSA should commit to a physical degree show to fulfil my needs, and the needs of every student graduating in the class of 2020.
