My work revolves around the female body and I study the ways in which I can portray its expression with paint. By slowly stripping away colour and any excessive detail I find unnecessary in a photograph, I am able to explore my subject in terms of placement and presence within its space, the relationship between the layered painting technique and body language, and the confrontational significance of the subject to me personally.
